Each month, I’m going to be posting our monthly resolutions, and then at the end of each month, our monthly report card on how we did that month.
Please Comment what Your Resolutions/Report Cards are, or if you have a blog, please post a link to it so I can check yours out! Thank You!
So, without further ado, My February Resolutions!
1. Vegan Only – No Cheating or Exceptions!
Over the last 3 months, my husband and I have been mostly vegan. By “Mostly Vegan”, I mean that we have completely cut out meat and dairy from our diet. However, on occasion, if eating at our parents’ house, (Or when I get an intense craving for a candy bar.) we cheat a little. Well, no more. This month’s goal is to continue cooking only vegan meals, and to kindly refuse any non-vegan foods. And to kiss my cravings goodbye!
2. Our New Evening Routine – A.K.A. “Together Time”
Every evening, Matt and I have our together time, which typically consists of him changing from his work clothes, eating dinner, surfing on the web for a while, watching a few episodes of Star Trek and going to bed. This has been our nightly routine for the last few months, and it’s the thing I look forward to the most every day. However, we decided we need to change up our routine a bit, and add some extra things into our together time that will really make our evening beneficial in many ways.
So, behold! Our NEW Together Time Schedule!
- Change out of work clothes & eat dinner cooked by Wifey (ME!)
- Read through a chapter of the Bible, and use our new Bible Commentary Companion Book to discuss chapter. (Our goal is to read through the whole Bible together!)
- Change into workout clothes, grab our ipods, and head to our gym for a run!
- Come home, shower, and make some after-workout snacks. (Mainly a juice, smoothie, or some cut-up fruit!)
- Watch about 2 episodes or Star Trek, snuggle, and go to bed!
So there you have it! Our new nightly routine! Similar to our usual routine, but with some improvement. Spending time in the Word together, and getting a good workout. Better than us just sitting next to each other on a computer.
3. Keep up with my Morning Routine
In my last Monthly Resolutions post for January, I created a morning schedule that I wanted to stick with. To make my day more productive and begin with a good positive start! Click here if you want to read that routine in detail, http://thehilarioushugheys.wordpress.com/2013/01/16/monthly-resolutions-january-link-up/
I did fairly great with everything except for the workout part, so that’s what I’m planning on focusing on next. Hopefully I can improve the grade for this on the next report card!
4. Get Out of Debt – Pay off 2 more credit cards!
We just finished paying off one credit card, and now we have 3 more left. 2 of which we’re pretty positive we can get it completely paid off by the end of February. If we do it, it would free up so much extra money for us, and it would be so satisfying to finally put those bills to rest.
5. Plan & Accomplish Our Perfect Valentine’s Day Date
I recently posted about our idea for an At-Home Budget Friendly Romantic Valentine’s Date. You can check out the details here: http://thehilarioushugheys.wordpress.com/2013/02/04/valentines-extravaganza/
We were trying to think of what we did for V-day last year, and realized that we didn’t do anything for valentine’s day! If you’ve read any of my other posts about how our last year went, you’d know that it was a crazy stressful, busy year, and Valentine’s Day was the last thing on our mind.
This year, we’ve decided we’re going to make up for that, and so we’ve planned a Valentine’s Day Date Extravaganza! This to us is the perfect date for us two newlyweds on a tight budget. So if you want to see what we’re going to do, check out that blog post, Valentine’s Extravaganza!
So those are my resolutions for the month of February! I hope this inspired you to take hold of your goals and accomplish them! It Can Be Done!
What are your goals for February?

My February goals: 1) greatly reduce the amount of food waste in our home. I always freeze meat, but veggies can be tricky. 2) create a cleaning schedule. This was a January goal that I did not meet – so it will stay a goal until I do, which I will work to achieve in February!
